How to do WhatsApp marketing without getting banned
Almost every guide on this tells you to send less. The mechanism is not about how much you send, it is about how people react to it.
It is a reaction score, not a volume limit
The most useful thing to understand is that Meta does not primarily police how many messages you send. It watches what recipients do with them. Blocks and reports feed a quality rating on your number, and a number whose rating falls gets throttled and eventually restricted. This explains behaviour that otherwise looks arbitrary: one business sends fifty thousand messages a month untouched, another sends four hundred and loses the number. The first was messaging people who wanted to hear from them and the second was not, and volume was never the variable.
Consent is the whole control
Because the score is driven by recipient reaction, consent stops being a legal formality and becomes the operational lever. A list of people who gave you their number for a reason they remember will not report you. A purchased list will, at a rate high enough to kill a number within days. The uncomfortable implication is that no amount of careful sending rescues a bad list, and most 'ban prevention' advice is an attempt to send to bad lists slowly enough not to be noticed. It does not work, and it wastes months.
Relevance and timing move the same number
Two things reliably raise the block rate on lists that are otherwise fine. Sending something the recipient did not expect from you, and sending at a time that annoys them. A customer who bought roofing sheets will accept a message about roofing sheets and report a message about a jewellery sale. Someone happy to hear from you at 11am may not be at 10pm. Segmenting by what people actually bought, and holding sends to working hours, costs nothing and directly protects the score that keeps you alive.
Give people an exit and honour it immediately
Counter-intuitively, making it easy to opt out lowers your ban risk, because someone who can leave quietly does that instead of reporting you. An unsubscribe that works on the first request, permanently and across every list, converts your worst signal into your safest one. The businesses that get banned are usually the ones that made leaving hard, which turned mild irritation into a formal complaint.
The tool decides the floor
All of the above assumes you are on Meta's official Business Platform, where templates are approved in advance and the number is a registered business sender. Software that automates a normal WhatsApp account breaches Meta's terms regardless of how carefully you use it, which means the ban is a matter of detection rather than behaviour. WappBlaster sends on the official platform, which does not make you immune to a bad list, but does mean good behaviour is actually rewarded.

Frequently asked questions
What actually causes a WhatsApp business number to get banned?
Recipient reaction, not volume. Blocks and reports drive a quality rating on your number, and a falling rating leads to throttling and then restriction. This is why one business can send tens of thousands of messages safely while another loses a number after a few hundred: the difference is whether the recipients wanted the message.
Link to this answerHow many messages a day is safe?
There is no universally safe number, which is why the question misleads. A well-consented list supports high volume; a purchased list can trigger restriction at a few hundred. Messaging tiers do limit how many unique customers you can reach in 24 hours, and they rise as your quality rating stays healthy, so good behaviour raises the ceiling over time.
Link to this answerDoes sending more slowly help?
Only marginally, and it is the most over-prescribed advice in this area. Slowing down a campaign to an unconsented list reduces the rate at which complaints arrive without reducing the proportion, so the outcome is the same and takes longer. Fix who is on the list before adjusting the pace.
Link to this answerDoes an easy unsubscribe increase or reduce risk?
It reduces it, noticeably. Someone who can leave quietly does that instead of reporting you, and a report is far more damaging to your number than a removal. Honour opt-outs on the first request, permanently and across every list.
