Automation

Messages that send themselves when something actually happens

The best WhatsApp message is the one nobody had to remember to send. Connect a trigger to a message and the follow-up happens whether or not anyone is at a desk.

Included in the platform licence. Not a paid add-on.

What is WhatsApp automation?

WhatsApp automation sends messages automatically in response to an event rather than a person pressing send. WappBlaster’s automations builder triggers on inbound webhooks, Google Sheet changes, store events from Shopify and WooCommerce, form submissions, missed calls, payments, marketplace leads and time delays, then runs a sequence of actions: send a WhatsApp message, tag the contact, update a field, call an API, or store a record.

Capabilities

What you get

Everything here is documented and shipping today, not on a roadmap.

Inbound webhook triggers

Any system that can call a URL can start a workflow or send a WhatsApp message. This is the escape hatch that covers everything not on the integrations list.

Google Sheets triggers

Fire when a particular column changes, or run across all or selected rows, which turns a spreadsheet into a campaign controller for teams that already work that way.

Store event triggers

New Shopify orders, WooCommerce order status changes, abandoned carts, COD confirmation and COD-to-prepaid conversion flows.

Time delays and schedules

Wait an hour, a day or a week between steps, or run a weekly reminder workflow. This is how drip sequences are built.

Datastore

A MongoDB-backed store for records the workflow creates, finds, searches and updates, for state that has to outlive a single run.

Payments inside a flow

Take a Stripe payment as a workflow step, or branch on whether a payment succeeded or failed.

How it works

Setting it up

  1. 1

    Choose the trigger

The event that should start it: an order, a webhook, a sheet change, a date.

  2. 2

    Add the message

Pick the template and map variables from the trigger payload.

  3. 3

    Add conditions and delays

Branch on tags or field values, and wait where a human would wait.

  4. 4

Turn it on and watch the first runs

Check the first few executions before trusting it with volume.

Where it earns its keep

Common uses

  • Payment and invoice reminders

Due-date driven, so nobody chases manually.

  • Birthday and anniversary greetings

A date field triggers the message every year.

  • Missed-call follow-up

A missed call webhook sends a WhatsApp message within seconds.

  • Marketplace lead response

IndiaMART and TradeIndia enquiries answered instantly.

  • Google Form submissions

A form response starts the conversation automatically.

  • Weekly reminders

Recurring internal or customer nudges on a schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about WhatsApp automation.

Do I need a developer to set up WhatsApp automation?

For the built-in triggers, no: Shopify, WooCommerce, Google Sheets, forms and marketplaces are configured in the interface. A developer helps only if you are wiring a custom internal system, and even then it is usually just pointing that system at an inbound webhook URL.

What can trigger an automation?

Inbound webhooks, Google Sheet cell or row changes, Shopify and WooCommerce order events, Google Forms, Typeform and Contact Form 7 submissions, missed calls, marketplace leads from IndiaMART and TradeIndia, payment outcomes, CRM changes, and time-based schedules.

Can automations send to people who never messaged me first?

Yes, using an approved template, which is what templates exist for. Free-form messages are only allowed inside the 24-hour customer service window after the customer’s last message.

What is the datastore for?

Holding data between runs: a reference table the workflow looks up, or records it creates and updates. It is backed by MongoDB and addressed by record ID.
