“Free vs paid” is the wrong axis for WhatsApp bulk senders, because the expensive mistake and the free mistake are the same product in different boxes. The axis that matters is official versus not. Here is the full ladder, from zero to flat fee, and what each rung actually buys.
The ladder
₹0: free blaster / APK
Automates your consumer account. No templates, no reports, phone must be online, malware risk on cracked copies, ban in days. You pay with the number.
₹0: WhatsApp Business app
Official and free. Broadcast lists of 256 saved contacts. No scheduling, segmentation or reporting. Fine for one person replying; not a marketing tool.
₹1,500 to ₹10,000 one-time
The free blaster with an invoice. Same mechanism, same ban. “Lifetime” is the tell: Meta charges per message, so nothing official can be lifetime.
Credit packs
Pay per message in advance. Meta’s rate and the vendor’s markup blended into one number; often unofficial underneath. Ask for the two lines separately.
₹2,000 to ₹15,000 a month per-seat
Official BSPs. Agent limits, contact tiers, sometimes a markup on Meta. Works; the bill grows with every hire.
₹7,999 / $200 a year flat
WappBlaster. Official, unlimited contacts, chatbot, inbox, API, onboarding included, Meta itemised at cost. Free trial, no card.
What free actually buys
- No templates, so no buttons, no approved media headers, no verified business name on the recipient’s screen.
- No delivery events. You will never know what arrived. Free tools have no access to those signals.
- No delivery to unsaved numbers, because the consumer app only broadcasts to people who saved you.
- A phone that must stay on, and a tab that must stay open.
- A ban, on the number, usually within days at volume. See why blasters get numbers banned.
What paid official buys
- Approved templates with personalisation, images, PDFs and buttons.
- Delivered, read, replied and clicked per message, and segments built from them.
- Delivery to any opted-in number, saved or not, with your verified name showing.
- A number hosted on Meta, no phone involved, usable by the whole team at once.
- A shared inbox and chatbot so replies become sales.
- Messaging tiers that rise to unlimited as quality stays healthy, instead of a ban.
The free part that is real
On the official platform the software is not what costs money; Meta’s per-message charge is, and it only starts at volume. So the honest free path is a demo on your own use case, a trial on your own number with no card, one template approved, a small real segment sent, and a delivery report to read. If it works, the platform is ₹7,999 a year in India or $200 elsewhere. If not, nothing is charged and nothing renews. Details in what free bulk WhatsApp software actually costs.
The cost nobody can waive: Meta’s charge
Every official route pays Meta per marketing message, at a rate Meta sets by country and template category. What varies is whether the provider marks it up. WappBlaster passes it through at 0% markup as a separate line. Service replies inside the 24-hour window are free today and become billable from 1 October 2026 (details).
How to decide in one minute
- If it needs a QR code from your phone, it is unofficial at any price. Stop.
- If it is official, ask for Meta’s charge and the platform fee as two lines.
- If the platform fee is per seat or per contact tier, multiply by where you will be in a year.
- If it is flat with unlimited contacts, that is the number.
Next step
Take the free part: the free trial on your own number. The Bulk WhatsApp Sender Software page has the full feature list, and WhatsApp blaster prices in India works through the numbers by business size.
