Bot or person
What a Delhi chatbot should handle, and what it should leave to people
A bot earns its keep by closing a handful of tasks fully and passing the rest to Delhi staff without delay.
1 Bot: questions asked daily
Shop timings, the market address, batch schedules, test preparation instructions and price lists. The bot answers these at any hour, including late-night messages from students and retailers.
2 Bot: collecting details
Name, requirement, course, test type or order quantity, asked in a few short steps and stored on the contact, giving whoever steps in next a full picture from the first line.
3 Person: complaints and payments
Refunds, billing disputes, wrong reports and upset customers go to a staff member straight away, with whatever the bot already collected visible in the thread.
4 Person: anything the bot misses
After two messages it cannot make sense of, the bot calls in a person rather than sending the customer round the menu again, which is how bots frustrate and lose Delhi customers.
