Email + portal payslip delivery is failing in Indian and GCC SMB workforces — blue-collar and field staff do not actively use email, employer-managed addresses lapse on exit, and portal-fetch payslips routinely go unread. Payslip on WhatsApp has near-universal open rates in these workforces, but only when implemented with proper encryption, passphrase policy and retention controls.

For blue-collar and field staff in India + UAE, payslip templates should be available in English, Hindi, regional Indian (Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Punjabi) and Arabic. Bilingual templates (English + local) work well for mixed-literacy workforces.
